Day 16

Day 16 started with a healthy breakfast with Trevor and Barbara to fuel up for a tour of Killaloe.
Our tour started with a walk along the waterfront in the twin towns of Killaloe and Ballina.  Trevor was surprised by some of the new developments in town.
Trevor treated us all to a tour ion the Spirit of Killaloe, a one hour boat ride up and down Lough Derg.  The weather cooperated and a good ride was had by all.  Once back on dry land, we stopped for a late lunch in Killaloe.
The exercise was not over yet as Trevor and Barbara had a gruelling 9 km walk in mind (gruelling for us anyway).  It was a tough steep climb for half of it but once at the top the view was breathtaking.  It was a great view of the entire valley and gave a better idea of how big the Loch actually was.
Trevor and Barbara had to leave for the evening as Trevor had to work tomorrow.  As Claire and Owen try to figure out the washing machine and the stove, I am trying to catch up on blogs.  Cheers the adventure continues tomorrow.

The local Catholic Church in Killaloe with crosses and a font brought there from the 12th century.

Believe it or not, an Alchemy shop right across from the Catholic Church.
